Today we’re introducing PreScalar, a software-native platform for automated manufacturing testing and device provisioning, designed for AI-enabled hardware systems.
As robotics, autonomous vehicles, and advanced electronics enter high-volume production, manufacturing test infrastructure has lagged, relying on fragmented tools and manual processes. This slows iteration and hampers data capture for product improvement.
Manufacturing test systems need to function like integrated, modern software platforms.
Over the past year, we’ve developed hardware and software to enable this. Our platform allows rapid deployment and updating of tests and firmware on production lines without downtime.
We’re collaborating with leading robotics and electronics manufacturers to implement the platform in real production settings.
Our Founding Team
Skyler Salman (CEO)
15 years in hardware manufacturing, test automation, and new product launch, specializing in scaling R&D into mass production. Built and led teams of hardware and software engineers across autonomous and electric vehicles (Cruise, Waymo, Rivian), AI data center infrastructure (Google), and aerospace (Boeing). Linkedin
John Cathcart (COO)
A career-long focus on bringing new vehicle technology from concept to mass production. Led complete vehicle programs and international joint ventures at Chrysler, including taking the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 from concept to production on two continents in 18 months. After moving to the Bay Area, managed vehicle programs at Better Place, Lucid, and SF Motors, and served as the vehicle program leader for the Cruise Origin, the first mass-produced L4 autonomous vehicle. Ben Fredrickson (CTO) Started in robotics as an early engineer at Auris Health (acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2019) and was the first hire at Remedy Robotics, prototyping remote surgical intervention with AI. At Cruise, worked on launching the Origin vehicle into production. Holds a patent in robot kinematics and pending patents in computer vision, network communication, and user interfaces, with deep experience spanning robotic middleware, HIL testing frameworks, data science, and software release processes. Holds degrees in pure mathematics and computer science. Linkedin
We're looking forward to telling everyone more about what we're building. In the near term, here are some shots of pretty hardware.
